freedom from religion group or nuisance

Hello fellow bloggers. I am a third year student at University of Memphis. My topic choice was influenced by an event in hometown of Whiteville, Tn. A group of individuals belonging to the freedom from religion foundation took the initiative of filing a lawsuit against the city for displaying a cross atop of its water tower. The members do not live in or near the town or county, I don't think they live in the state. They felt that the city was forcing a religion on the citizens, although none of the citizens filed a complaint about the cross that had been there for almost five years.
